Brian Mabeya is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with a keen interest in analyzing the
interplay between the African Legal field and the fast growing Digital Economy. He graduated
from the University of Nairobi Law School with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) Hons. in the year
2018.
Brian specializes in Criminal and Civil Litigation, Tech-Law, Intellectual Property
Law, Media Law and Corporate Law and currently practices in the law firm of Danstan
Omari and Associates Advocates.
Brian is also a Data protection counsel and Digital policy consultant involved in research and
writing on emerging areas of Law such as: Digital Trade policy, Data protection and
Artificial Intelligence policy.
In his past career experience, Brian has been involved in Diplomacy and International Law
matters, having previously worked in the Legal Office of the United Nations Office at Nairobi
(UNON) in 2021. Here he was involved in International Dispute proceedings held at the
United Nations Dispute Tribunal (UNDT). At UNON, he also consulted on Treaty Law, Public
Law and the Law of International Organizations. Furthermore, Brian has been involved in
the legislative drafting process of innovation-centered Kenyan bills such as the Agriculture
Mechanisation Bill of 2021, during his time at the Ministry of Agriculture in 2021.
